Approvals

For the majority of projects, approval from relevant state agencies is required prior to construction.  In many cases, ICM manages the approval process for their clients.  These approvals range from relatively small works for private landowners to large projects [typically for developers or Councils].

The vast majority of these approvals are within Queensland and New South Wales.  In Queensland, the approval process has seen multiple changes to the approval process with the introduction of IPA [Integrated Planning Act] and IDAS [Integrated Development Assessment System].  Often, the approval process involves a number of agencies, potentially including:

  • Local Council

  • Environmental Protection Agency [EPA]

  • Regional Harbour Master

  • Department of Natural Resources & Mines [DNR&M]

  • Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries [DPI&F]

  • Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service - Marine Parks [QPWS]

  • Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority [GBRMPA]
