Pratte's Reef

The first artificial surfing reef in USA, Pratte's Reef is located at Dockweiler Beach, El Segundo [California].  The reef was constructed of approximately 120 sand-filled geotextile containers, each weighing some 15t.  Construction was completed by September 2000 [photos below].
